Scanner will not add new media files Plex Maintenance

Today there were widespread plex issues. Since that has happened, when adding new files to my library, they never appear on the server. I have tried adding to multiple different folders with multiple different files with no result.

I’m not sure if it’s a residual issue from the downtime today, or if there’s something bigger going on.

I had the same issue on my iMac running macOS 10.14.6 - PMS Version 1.19.5.3112
Toggling the ‘Scan my library automatically’ button did nothing. As the only media I have added to my library recently is music I went to ‘Music’ > ‘Edit Music’ > ‘Advanced’ > ‘Scanner’, then changed ‘Plex Music’ to ‘Plex Music Scanner’. New tracks and albums are now being updated.
