My music library has always been in the Artist > Album > Tracks hierarchy and recently I’ve been updating some directory and track names. When I do this, a library scan doesn’t recognize the change in path/filename. Scanning has no issue discovering new content. Knowing this, I tried deleting a couple of those Plex entries that pointed to non-existent directories before emptying the trash and re-scanning. This still did not work.
I’ve had no issues when performing similar actions in either TV or Movie libraries and I can’t seem to find any existing articles that address this other than some mention about how Music libraries aren’t included when automatic scanning is enabled. I don’t have “Scan my library automatically” enabled, but I do have it set to “Scan my library periodically: every 2 hours” enabled, for what it’s worth.
