Screen blanking on new install

Howdy,

I just installed rasplex on a Raspberry Pi 2. Install was easy and seems to work fine when connected to a monitor. When I hook it to my vizio TV it will work for 30-120s and then I get the evil “no signal” page. I did a re-install of the OS just in case and tried to do all of the settings from the TV in case it was somehow saving the monitor’s settings. No luck. Still drops signal. Tried other HDMI cables as well and other HDMI ports. Any suggestion on where I can start to look?

When this happens can you SSH in to the RPi?

Yep I can still ssh into the pi. The system doesn’t crash the screen just goes blank. I moved the pi back to the monitor and it seems to work fine from the monitor just not my TV. Any suggestions?

Has this worked on the TV before? Sounds like some kind of handshake timeout with the signalling, please also connect it to the TV and SSH in and run the command: tvservice -s

I figured it out. The power wart I was using was an older one and apparently not giving enough power to the PI. I swapped to another power wart and it works fine now. Thanks for the help.
