Screen Tearing on Plex for Windows, but not if streaming through online player...why?

I have recently noticed that my plex for windows player is having playback with screen tearing.

When I play with same episode through the online player…it plays without screen tearing.

I have played with all settings in plex for windows in the “player” section which could be related to v-sync. I have also played with my graphics card settings:

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. AMD Driver and Software version 22.11.2.

I have never noticed this before (but in all honesty, I cannot say with certainty that it was not there before). However, I am now attuned to it, and its very annoying.

Is this a known bug? What else can I do to troubleshoot? Is there a program which runs a benchtop test to optimize video card software for video playback?

Look in your GPU settings and see if you can force V-sync to be on for the Plex for Windows app. I had the same problem and that is how I fixed it with my Nvidia GPU.
