As someone that’s hard of hearing it’s annoying to not be able to select SDH subtitles by default. With almost every service/device the option is there to have subtitles on by default, yet with Plex we can’t do that. It’s quite annoying to have to go into the menu and turn them on individually, this is especially the case when binging shows that only have a 30 min or less runtime per episode. I can understand if the subtitles aren’t available but I make a deliberate effort to make sure they’re available because it’s difficult to impossible to enjoy watching without.
Thanks for your suggestion. There’s already an existing thread discussing an option to prefer either SDH or non-SDH subtitles. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
