Ok we have now looked everywhere and cannot find the option to type in a film name in order to bring it up.

My personal film library is 2k strong in movies and having to find a film is fine on other devices such as FireTV, AndroidTV, PC, Mac etc but on the xbox its a total pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no option for this yet.

Yes I agree it's a pain in the ass.  Best you can do is "jump to letter" which narrow down the list quite a bit.

However this is a bug in this too so...  The bug is that sometimes you only get "part" of the letter list and it circulates back to the beginning.

The xBox One app is a work in progress in early stages of development and has a ways to go.

Sometimes when I want to watch a specific movie I'll just find in explorer on my computer, right click and tell it to play to the xBox one (yes, outside of Plex).

Really? How do you get this function to work? How can my windows machine be aware of an Xbone on the same network so I can rigth click MKV's to start plex playing the file?

You can do mkv's natively on Windows 8 with Play To, there are ways to make it work though. One of them that I have used is the Shark007 codec pack, I'll leave it to google to assist you further with finding and installing it, but make sure you watch the checkboxes and know what you are installing as they very much try to install extra crap on your computer. I have used it and it worked however, this will play with Xbox Video and not the Plex app however.

Thanks! Going to give this a Go. That functionality would be good in a pinch.
