I recently discovered when listening to my music via Plex that half of the tracks are missing for some artists depending on if I have a lot of their music in compilations or “various artist” albums. Everything I’ve read or searched on this basically says this is a bug. I followed the Support Article on how to organize your music for various artists and my music is setup that way already from when it was imported from CD via iTunes. The only way to find the tracks I’m looking for in this case is to search for the album title as searching by the artist does not return the results, doesn’t show up in the list of tracks either. Really bummed about this 
Which Plex app are you using? It’s possible that this feature hasn’t made it to all the apps yet. It works in Plex Web, as well as the Android app.
This is happening in the web app, the android app, and the Roku app. As an example, I can search for Groban in my library and it’ll find a couple albums and all the tracks in those albums. However, Josh Groban’s Bridges album is missing (and not listed in tracks either).
If I search specifically for “bridges” it will find it.
As you can see, the album is titled Bridges and album artist is Various Artists, but the title artist for the tracks include Josh Groban. It just isn’t found by Plex as part of the “Groban” search.
Does anyone have any ideas?
bump, I can’t be the only person that’s had this issue unless something is corrupted on my end.
