Search For Movies That DON'T Have Subtitles?

My goal is to ensure my 1,000 movie collection all has subtitles.

I see there’s a custom search I can utilize and I’ve been performing a custom search for movie subtitles that are not in English to find movies that may not have subtitles, but it now still shows me movies that have Unknown subtitles attached, in addition to those that do not.

Is there a way to find all movies that do not have subtitles so that I can add them manually?

Right now I’m clicking on every movie in the custom search that doesn’t have English listed as a subtitle, but many of them are classified as “unknown” because they already have an external srt file attached.

How to use MKVToolNix to extract SRT subtitle form MKV file

Here is a quick way to extract all subtitle tracks from every mkv file in the current directory. I suppose you can modify the script to echo the filenames to output.log or similar instead of extracting tracks.

but many of them are classified as “unknown” because they already have an external srt file attached.

You can fix all of this by searching for all external subs and rename them appropriate to the language they are.

Especially if all of the external subs are English. Find some mass/batch rename tool and rename the extensions to en.srt or eng.srt
You will have to Refresh Metadata after correcting all the names.
