USE CASE: I want to set subtitles for files by default without having to pause my movie and search.
REQUIREMENT: In order to download all necessary subtitles ahead of time, I need to know which files are lacking subtitles so I’m looking to make a Smart Collection that will stay updated as I add new files
PROBLEM: Advanced Search only allows me to filter by Subtitle Language, which does not display these files
And this will also tell me which files have corresponding in-directory SRT files? - I’ve got many of those
UPDATE: it does not appear to be working properly?
NOTE: Display External Subtitles IS set
So I tried this and the issue is it only tells me which files don’t have EXTERNAL subtitles. So it’s flagging files that have embedded subtitle tracks
Add a language code to your existing subtitle files.

Which then allows you to use the “subtitle language” filter.
If you use the Export feature of WebTools, you can tell by the column “Subtitle Stream Format” whether an existing subtitle is internal or external. Internal subtitles all appear as “N/A” whereas external ones have their format listed.
