I am trying to use plex instead of itunes/apple music but when I search for any artist name or keyword, it appears the results are limited in number. Why is this and how to I get it to show a full list of tracks/albums etc? For example I have 269 tracks and 14 albums of a particular orchestra, but when I search the name in plex I only see about 30 tracks and 5 albums. I need to be able to see all the tracks or I will just keep using apple music and/or manual filesystem searches which is very silly.
You should be able to click the „View More Results“ button to bring up more results. On that view, you can also restrict the search by artists/albums/tracks. That being said, search results for an artist name will list the artist and their albums, but only tracks with a title containing your search term.
If you know you’re looking for a specific artist… won’t it be more straightforward to access them from the library view?
e.g. filtering the library tracks by artist or browsing from artist to their albums/tracks?
You might want to give Plexamp a look.
That should give you a superior experience compared to the web app.
