Searching and selecting SRT subs from Sony internal Plex app cause the movie or show to Transcode

Sony A90J internal app:

TV Direct plays HEVC fine using the built-in app.
The issue is with subs on either H264 or HEVC.
It will Direct play SRT subs AS LONG AS those exist inside the MKV of the movie, OR have been added to plex beforehand through the web interface.
If you search for subs from the plex app on the TV and then use the SRT you got from there, the plex app on the TV will always transcode rather than direct play.
Of course, the Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) I have plays everything without issues

Some of my plex server clients are having the issue for some time now.
I thought it was because their plex app on their TVs couldn’t handle SRTs.
Looks like this is not the reason now that I see what is happening with the Plex app on my Sony A90J.

TLDR

  1. SRT subs inside the mkv : Direct play
  2. External SRT subs added to the movie folder manually : Direct PLay
  3. SRT subs searched and added through Plex Web app : Direct Play
  4. SRT subs search and added through the TVs internal app : Transcode

Please try to reproduce and let me know if I can help with testing and/or logs

Please recreate yourself first and gather those logs.

The devs will look at your logs then know how to proceed themselves.

Also please include the PMS Server logs ZIP file which captures this same time period.

I will try to recreate the issue (At the moment I am not able to as everything works as intended), and get you those logs
