After installing latest updates, the Search function cannot find many Original Titles when using Plex for Windows. I’m 99.99% sure this problem began after the 1.40.0.7998 server update.
A have a large library of foreign language titles, where the Original Title uses a foreign language and the Title & Sort Titles are in English.
Any new movies I add to Plex are not affected by this bug - only existing movies before the server update cannot be searched using the Original Title.
After experimenting for the last few days, I have found a way to fix one title at a time.
- Edit (re-enter data) for the Original Title field and Save Changes.
- Go into Settings / Troubleshooting and use Clean Bundles & Optimize Database.
- Now when I search using the original foreign language title, the movie appears in search results.
I would love to know if other Plex members can confirm the same problem!
