Have you ever had a tv show that wasn’t parted in seasons, but in different ‘series’ (as in, each “season” had their specific name), and does it hurt you every time you’re watching “season 2”? Wouldn’t you sometimes wish that Plex was able to name seasons and specials within a show, something else?
Well, now you can, and it’s easy as one, two, three!

Start by clicking the button you always click, when you want to edit something in the metadata on your Plex Media Server.

Click the field indicating the name you want to change:

Change it to whatever you like (this is a good suggestion, if you really like cake).
You can also, of course, do this manually:

Go to the folder, where your media is.

Change the folder name, and the name should follow in Plex (be aware that the metadata scanner might modify the name you have chosen, in that case, refer to step 1-3).
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the name of a season. Now the tiny, detail-obsessed madman with a slight hint of OCD that rests in your belly, can finally relax. Here, have some cake.

Hi, I am a new Plex Pass-user, and really digging it so far. I’m actually digging it so much, that what would normally have been a source procrastination has become a full-fledged New Years-project of converting, organizing, filing, even image editing for posters that wouldn’t become the right size (another suggestion I have, but let’s keep it at one thing at a time). Although, I am a bit surprised of how static Plex seems to be at times, and at weird places too. I mean, why NOT be able to change the name of the ‘seasons’. Many shows have undertitles per season, animes are notoriously not parted in seasons but in seperate series that works as seasons. Reality show seasons are oftentimes parted in location (because there are real housewives in both N.Y. AND L.A.), and even though I’m not gonna be embarassed over my guilty pleasures, it does look a lot neater if I can find it all in one place.
I sincerely hope we are many that wants this as much as I do. Keep up the good work, @PlexTeam.
EDIT: I apologize for my subpar attempt at being humorous, I’ve been told that ■■■ and jokes sell, and I thought I’d keep it sober.
