I currently have more than 20 episodes in one of my tv shows but it is only seeing the first 20 episodes how do I get it to see the rest?
You sure they are named properly?
I have Jeopardy and it’s on episode 173 of season 35 and it doesn’t have any issues displaying them.
I believe it defaults to thetvdb.com for retrieving the information by default. Check how the episodes are organized there and make sure your episodes are named accordingly. I always use [show name] SnnEnn [episode name].ext
Also make sure they’re all stored in a directory associated with a TV library in plex, not a movie library.
I also have shows with over 100+ episodes that display fine.
The server shows the 20 episodes exactly how I have them named. I got the list of the episodes off wikipedia. After 20 episodes it doesn’t show any more. Do you know if the server has a limit of 20 episodes per season?
Wikipedia doesn’t matter to Plex. There is no way to fetch episode data from it programmatically.
Plex can fetch metadata about tv shows from TheTVDB and TheMovieDatabase.
So, look up your tv show on either of these two and organize it accordingly.
there is not a limit that I’ve seen. I have a series with over 300 episodes in one season.
They do need to be included in a TV library (not video - video libraries are considered home videos). Check which agent you’re using to scan the library (in the properties of the library) and then compare against the website its using.
I’d probably also make sure its a compatible video file.
I’ve only seen that kind of behavior if say, you add a movie to the TV library or add an mp3 to the movie library etc.
Make sure the TV show has been matched correctly by going to the top level of the show and clicking the … button and Match or Fix Match
filebot portable and name my tv series applications both free and if setup correctly will fix your plex naming issues both use thetvdb or how you tell it to fetch the naming… google is your friend
