This is something else that has been occurring frequently in the past few weeks. I’m in some forum (it just happened to me while sitting in the Forum Feedback section), and this banner appears:
I have never found that the See X new or updated topics message/banner to work correctly unless your at the root/top of the site. For example, in your screenshot, you’re in the Forum Feedback category. You have to be on your “home screen” for the forum for that link/banner to work.
Well, it used to be that, if I was in a category and the banner appeared, it meant that there were new messages in that category. Clicking the banner updated the page, showing the new post(s). Occasionally in the past 2 or 3 weeks, that has been the case. But I’m seeing the banner many more times, and there’s nothing new.
I started writing the OP just before a meeting, and I let it sit in edit mode when I went to the meeting. When I came back, there was a banner showing “See 18 new or updated topics.” I finished writing the OP and posted it, then I clicked on the banner, and it disappeared without showing any new messages. I returned to the forum home, and there was one new message in the entire forum.
I’ve noticed some new features in the past 2 or 3 weeks. I suspect they introduced some bugs as well.
This seems to have stopped in the past several weeks.
this appears to be working for me. I left a category open and waited for a the see x new topics banner. clicked on it and got this with new/updated topic showing above that red line. guessing something must have gotten fixed over weekend
That’s what I meant - the problem seems to have stopped.
