Hi, I created a user without a pin to give other family members access to the uploaded contents.
Now when you open plex it always asks where you want to log in on the first user with PIN or the second without pin
It is possible to access plex automatically by the user without PIN
so as not to always have to select the second user every time the plex opens.
Hi, but the “log in automatically” item is only found in the administrator account with the PIN while the other user account without PIN does not have this “log in automatically” item
If I set “sign in automatically” from the administrator account where the PIN is set, I can access that account.
I wanted to automatically log in to the second user, the one without protection
Right.
But I noticed one thing, when you access the user with PIN and then exit from plex and then later return to plex again you immediately access the user with pin (without requesting the pin)
and not with the user without pin
to automatically access the user without a pin you must close plex when you are inside that user.
Isn’t it possible even if I exit as the administrator user with pin and then later when I open plex it opens the second user without pin?
Because it may be that one day you forget to change user before leaving plex and the second login enters directly into the administrator user with pin (without entering any pin)
Fill the checkbox, you can get in to that user’s account without any selection of user or PIN.
Clear the checkbox and the user must be selected again and a PIN will be requested, if set.
Maybe you didn’t understand me because of Google Translate.
I enabled the auto login item, and now it works as far as automatic user login without pin is concerned.
But I wanted to understand this:
Administrator (with pin) when I log in to this user and exit plex when I return immediately I am in this user and not in user 2.
If I enter user 2 and then exit the plex and return immediately to user 2, that’s fine with me.
The problem is when I log in to the Administrator user (with pin) and then log out when I return to plex I would like it to log me into user 2 and not to the Administrator user (with pin) even if I left that user the last time with pin
Once you enable the checkbox, the last-used user account is automatically logged in upon app start.
If that last-used user happens to be the Admin, then yes, you would be logged in to the admin account upon next app start.
Is it not possible to change this?
it was safer that if one forgets to change user the next time plex starts he still enters the user without pin and not the last one used
Then disable the checkbox again.
Put a PIN on your admin account, but no pin on this user’s account.
That way the user selector screen will be shown, from where the user has click on his name. (And he cannot click on your name because it will then prompt for a PIN, which he hopefully doesn’t know).
Yes, I know this, if I change user later to log back into the administrator user I have to enter the pin again.
but that’s not the problem.
The problem is another, I’ll give some examples, maybe you’ll understand what I mean.
PLEX-user 1
PLEX-user 2
PLEX-user 1 is the primary user with pin is private contents
PLEX-user 2 is the user for all my family members
Now, I have the lock screen in front where I need to select
PLEX-user 1 or PLEX-user 2
I enter PLEX-user 1 and close the plex app (without changing the user)
At the next start of plex you will automatically enter PLEX-user 1 where all the private contents are and not the user PLEX-user 2
I would like that even if I close the plex app when I am in the user PLEX-user 1 the next time I start it it will still automatically access PLEX-user 2
That’s not possible. The only options are “always show the user selection screen” or “always log in as the last user that was signed in”. There’s no, “always log in as User X, even if they weren’t the last account signed in”.
At this point I really think so @DTR because I’ve tried all possible options.
Too bad because it was very useful if it could be done as I thought.
Because as I said if you forget to change user after opening plex without my presence you will find all my contents in front of you.
However, all users who use plex live in the same house, so the account is unique for all devices in the house.
