Selection is not popping out like it should in the Fire tv and android tv apps

Server Version#:1.41.2.9200-c6bbc1b53
Player Version#:10.24.0.2257

As the title states, the images of the selected movie does not pop up, there is just a white small border that often is invisible if the poster is not dark enough. I selected the modern theme, tried various combinations, restarted searched updates…nothing at all. I was considering buiyng the app but like this it’s real bad,…

No one?

Can you please take a screenshot. I cannot reproduce that. but maybe I am misunderstanding. There should be an public update to 10.24.1 available. Which Fire TV model are you using?

You can see here poster for first Beast of No Nation is larger when focused ( this is on a nVidia Shield)

The apps where updated and nothing changed… I attached the photo of the firetv models (all the same) and of the firetv version of the app. The server is the latest Linux one on raspberry, and I also attached 2 photos of selected movies… The dark ones (American tail) can be seen but no zoom, and the white ones… Invisible selection… I would already bought the lifetime pass if it was not for this

Just waiting on some folks to get back from holiday that have that device to try to reproduce on. Other Fire TV’s that we tried do not have that issue. There are some very low power devices for which it is limited in that way but your specific model should be fine afaik.

Curious if you have tried reinstalling the app.

I did reinstall, multiple times…

If you need i can do controlled tests, just contact me

Up again…

It kind of sucks that nobody is looking into this…

I even bought the pass (lifetime), to see if something changed… The only thing that changed is that I discovered that:

  1. Paid and non paid app are very different… While you claim they are the same for the basic functionality, apparently it’s not like that… Streaming self content breaks most of the time with weak internet with the free app, and remains more stable with the paid one…
  2. You will remove the only useful thing between the 2000 useless and confusing options, the ‘watch together’
  3. You DO sniff personal data all the time
  4. And you do SELL personal data all the time
  5. You are NOT oriented towards the personal media server service. All sorts of pushes towards mainstream streaming services. And that sucks, if I wanted them for sure I didn’t try to find a media server
  6. Plex has the worst interface and the worst customization ever. It just sucks bad
  7. There is ZERO technical support. You just take the money.

The only reason I didn’t ask for a refund and deleted forever the server and apps is that somehow you managed a walkaround to the DV playback problem in some android devices like Amazon fire tvs. If jellyfin manages to fix that, you will lose half of the clients. And you kind of deserve that, this is no way to sell products.
