Send email when media is played

I asked this in the regular windows forum but guess I'll add it here was well.

 

I'm wondering if there is a way to send an email when someone plays one of my movies. Looking at the code its written in java and python and I have no idea how I would go about doing this. Reason for this is I would like to know who is using my bandwidth.

 

If someone could point me in the right direction on what file is called or section of code is called when hitting the play button I can figure out how to write a script whether its python or javascipt to send an email.
