Send server messages

+1 vote for this as well

A five year old thread asking for this feature? I’m guessing we’ll never see it at this point but I’ll add my vote.

+1 and all the internets

You can always hope

Has anyone seen the latest updates for plex web. If you stop a playback you can send a message to who ever is playing.

would love for this feature to be added to PLEX. I share my library with several friends, and I want to be able to setup a notification or Message Of The Day (MOTD) that is displayed for users when they access my library to let them know about scheduled maintenance that I have setup to run(Unraid Parity check that is scheduled to happen starting at 1 AM every Sunday morning). I don’t know if running that causes any issues, but wanted to warn about it just to be safe.

This would be an awesome feature. I share my server with a ton of family, would be nice to let them know when I bring it down for maintenance.

Agreed, sending a short text message from the server to clients would be a useful capability.

I know this is an OLD request and I guess its not high on anyone’s list… However from an OLD lifetime subscriber
of PLEX. I have wanted this from the beginning . I would really like to be able to send a quick 1 line message letting the
person watching that an update is about to happen, or that repairs are being done and the server will be up soon.

Crossing the fingers…
Loving the Plex for many years

Long timer as well; would love this feature!

yes please

This can already be done by the kill off a connection messages, you can send a message to the user that way.

please we need to send message to users…

Yes, please add this feature ASAP…

If they can do this feature in MythTV surely to god its simple to add to Plex?

+1 from me in the hope of sensibility adding this feature!

To keep it going.

Count me in!

Yes. It’d be a great tool.

+1 – they’ve got the backend, now expose the implementation without having to cancel out streams~

Need this badly. Internet went out for a week and want to pop clients a message that it’s back up. Many more use cases that I love this for any as well.

+1
Would be a nice addition for many reasons
