This would save my phone from blowing up with calls and texts every time I need to update or do service. Do us all a solid and get this feature implemented.

I am definitely interested in this possibility.
Iâd like to be able to notify users that I am archiving / deleting content.
As i finish shows, i want to make room for more - but it would be handy to give people a chance to let me know they are still watching a particular show.
I didnât search the entire post if this reponse is a duplicate, but you can already do this with 3rd party software.

Just edit the plexEmail.py, remove everything about new movies/seasons, etc and write your desired message.
Indeed, it is not that easy, but doable.

I already exists when you want to stop a stream⌠itâs just a matter of them giving us the possibility to use it in other contexts.

I find it amazing that this âFeature Requestâ is from 5 YEARS AGO!!!
Im about to do Network and Server maintenance to my setup. A few people are using it and I wanted to message them or have a notification pop-up telling them this so I can shut it down without interrupting someones viewing.
Ive only recently purchased PlexPass and I am amazed that this was requested 5 years ago and continues to be ignored as a paid feature?
Not so sure the money spent was worth it nowâŚ

Never spend money for something you wish will be done. Spend it for whatâs offered. Plexpass is for Mobile Sync and Cloud Sync and Plex Cloud and Extras, etc. Were you not interested in those when you signed up? Didnât you tryout the free version for a little bit?

I want it for things like, iâm taking down the server in 2 hours to add disk space, or such and such video is up, or if you notice a problem with the quality on something let me know.
I want it for notification of people that are actively on my server watching things so they know not to waste time starting another video. I hate kicking people off in the middle of a movie to do maintenance, i also hate waiting around for server idle to do it.
Yes, i have these peoples phone numbers and their emails. Yes NVue can send them emails to their plex account address.
Two way chat and motd would be pie in the sky, but just a message in between movies letting them know to gtfo for a few hours would be AOK.
I had followed this thread so I would know when this obviously popular
feature got added. But I canât take it anymore. I get these things every
day now, almost.
Earlier, a guy complained that maybe he shouldnât have paid for PlexPass
since he thought this feature would get added. Another guy replied that you
should not pay for what you think will get added but pay for what exists.
I totally agree with that. However, itâs not a one-time buy. Itâs a
subscription. With that, youâd expect that the developers would prioritize
features that the crowd is chanting for, or at the very least, reply once
in a while to these types of threads to explain what is being prioritized,
etc. I mean, alot of us are in the software game. We know how this works.
But if the dev team sets priorities without listening to the market, then
the product manager would usually step in to reset priorities. With Plex
subscriptions, Iâd think that weâd have some active chatter here and either
put this to bed or get it on the roadmap.
Not complaining, really. Iâm mostly happy with plex. This is definately a
ânice - to - haveâ feature.

Plex Web has had this for some time already. Iâd still prefer to see a âServer Down For Maintenanceâ message or something similar if users tried to login while the server is down.
Didnât realize this was such an old request, this be a killer feature, specially if you lost contact to a few of your plex users and unable to contact them.
Wish there was a way to actually email them in the friends list without knowing theire email at all but then again, why it would matter, if the msg board is to difficult to produce and where it would be stored, on the pc or in the cloud.
I would love to be able to send messages to shared plex friends.
