An archive website has merged 4 episodes of a historical mini series so they play one after another. I have downloaded the mp4 file. Separate subtitles which I have found for each episode won’t play alongside the video. The first subtitles for the first episode played fine but nothing after that.
In the folder I have the mp4 file and 4 .srt files - how do I get Plex to play the following 3 subtitles as the film is running?
You merge the subtitles into 1 (chronologically) so there is a 1:1 ratio.
If using a remuxing tool, you can insert them into the video file at the right points and create the ‘subtitle’ track which again is a single chronological track.
Subtitle Edit should be able to merge the SRT files.
Might also try the online Subtitle Tools.
I’ve had a look at these but one is for Windows and I need a subtitle editor for MAC. Also others have a watermark which I don’t want on my film. Any suggestions for a free subtitle editor for MAC with no watermark please?
The online tool I linked merges two SRT text files.
It does not add any additional “merged by…,” “edited by…,” etc. lines to the SRT files.
It cannot add a watermark to the video, as the video track is never uploaded.
