Series: Two versions of one episode - no 'split apart'?

I have two versions of the same episode (Star Trek TNG, S02E09, The Measure of a Man normal/extended). In a movie database I can ‘split apart’ two versions. With TV shows there seems to be no such function.

How can I separate the different versions?

You can’t. Plex doesn’t support 2 of the same episode as separate items.

Thank you! Could that be a future feature? Or is this situation too rare to be considered?

You can create a feature request, but this does seem quite rare.
