Serious color issues (BT.601 vs BT.709 )

I’m having a problem where HD videos are using BT.601 instead of BT.709 to display colors.
I’ve tried and compared multiple videos, and the problem seems to be present in both the Apple TV app and the web player, but not in the stand-alone Windows app.

Here’s a couple of examples, taken from the web app:

As you can see, the incorrect color primaries makes reds look darker and more pinkish, while greens are brighter.

Actually the problem is only present in the web player and not in Apple TV? Would be nice to have some confirmation that SD content is indeed played in rec 601 and HD content in rec 709. There’s no info in the debug overlay or other setting to check.
