I Uninstalled and reinstalling plex a few times with ni luck. Keeps giving me a message sever cannot be found. Help appreciated. Thanyou
Sound like you may have had PMS installed previously under a different Plex account. Check https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/ to remove the old information and see if that helps.
Thankyou MovieFan.Plex but i am not locked out. Here’s the full story. A month ago i wanted to try plex and i installed plex server on my HP laptop (windows 10). It worked perfectly. I was able to load it on my TV and watch my media content. But recently i wanted to change the plex server from my HP laptop to an older dell laptop (windows 7). I didnt know what i was doing, i didnt uninstall the plex server from HP laptop before installing the plex server to my Dell laptop. The program installed but it failed to find the server. It just gives me this message " A problem has been detected with a core component of plex media server". i tried uninstalling and deleting every single file related to plex and start fresh. But no luck.
You may have a bad download of PMS. Follow the instructions in https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/ to totally remove PMS. Then download a new copy of PMS from https://www.plex.tv/apps-devices/#modal-devices-plex-media-server and try re-installing again.
