Server crashes sometimes: libc++abi: terminating with uncaught exception of type boost::wrapexcept

Sometimes, like once a month, my Plex server crashes. Docker logs then shows that the server is restarted in a loop, but crashes every time with the message

libc++abi: terminating with uncaught exception of type boost::wrapexcept<boost::uuids::entropy_error>: open /dev/urandom

docker-compose down and up fixes it temporarily. The docker logs also refer to a dump, but unfortunatly it’s not there anymore, since I restarted the container. It didn’t seem to help anyway as it only contains hardware infos and binary.

I’m running plex in docker on an ubuntu LXC on Proxmox.

Is this still happening on the current release ? eg latest beta 1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894 ?
If it is please, please ensure server debug logging is enabled beforehand and restart the server and capture the server logs after a crash

If you disable crash reporting, and a minidump is created by Plex Media Server, then you can copy it out of the Crash Reports folder for the rekease and zip and include it with the zipped server logs

It just crashed again. Version is 1.30.2.6563

I had debug logs enabled. I just don’t know which of the like 150 logfiles to look at. com.plexapp.system.log seems kinda relevant and has an entry from the right time window:

Best is to download the logs zip through the Plex Web settings page for Troubleshooting - after restarting the server

The main log files are the Plex Media Server.log and Plex Media Server.x.log files
and also for the dump id’s - the Plex Crash Uploader.log and Plex Crash Uploader.x.log - but it is always best to upload the logs zip file

If the crash was detected and intercepted by the crash reporting process, there would be a dmp file to look for
