Server Crashes when refreshing guide (video)

Plex server constantly crashes when refreshing guide. It seems that when the guide is large it is more prone to crash (150 channels).

See attached video and logs for the issue.

Server Version#: 1.24.0.4930
Player Version#: N/A

I’m having the same issue, and its absolutely maddening! I have to log in to PMS to stop the guide refresh or plex will crash. My guide is 216 channels at the moment. I feel like I probably shouldn’t have to remove channels in order to not have Plex crash on a guide refresh… it IS 2021 after all, people have lots of channels these days

Is this still happening on the Synology PMS when running on 1.24.2.4973-2B1B51DB9 and refreshing the xmltv EPG ?

Could I have new set of logs please after a crash on 1.24.2.4973

I Just got a chance to test this again, and it is still happening.

The latest DSM version I have is: 1.24.3.5033-7000

Attached are the same logs, but for the newer version.

Thanks

Can see a crash at Sep 15, 2021 22:18:55

I cannot find the crash report on the crash reporting system

Could you get into linux on the Synology NAS and try and see if the crash report file is still there

We copy the crash report to where $TMPDIR points to after attempt to upload

I am not sure what this is set to on the NAS plex process - but it might be this path

/var/packages/PlexMediaServer/shares/PlexMediaServer/AppData/tmp/

Could you look for files with these names

789f2a08-f60d-4c6b-fe3cbbaa-2d66d59a
bb761f71-18f4-43af-7ce0d183-7548e21d

I don’t there would be any filename extension
If you find them - please zip and send me by private message

For any further crashes we could disable crash reporting and then look for the crash reports in the directory for the release eg
/var/packages/PlexMediaServer/shares/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Crash Reports/1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4/PLEX MEDIA SERVER

@Fernando63 also noticed some curl errors - error 60 CURLE_PEER_FAILED_VERIFICATION

Sep 15, 2021 22:19:27.469 [0x7f0c9de93b38] ERROR - Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 60

Could you check that the system date and time are accurate on the NAS - discrepancy could lead to such errors

1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4.zip (162.3 KB)

I verified the date/time on NAS and it seems to be correct.

See attached for crash report for installed release

what date/time was that dmp file created ? f29417b2-fd5c-4597-c826caaf-37e6deca.dmp
And are there corresponding server debug logs for the time it was generated?

I have received from you a 15th September 22:18:55. dmp file which matches logs you provided before - so we have one matching set.

I see that you have the xmltv guide data provided within your local network through
http://10.0.0.24:34400/xmltv/xteve.xml

A fix for the xmltv EPG refresh crash is expected to be in Plex Media Server 1.29.2
