Server Error with H264 AAC video playback

For some of my movie library, I’ve remuxed the original bluray H264 video streams after being unhappy with the transcoded output. The audio is transcoded to AAC 5.1 or 7.1, no more than 448kbps. All files are in .mp4 containers with no subtitles or other metadata files included.

These files play fine on iOS and Amazon Fire TV.

When I playback on the Xbox One Plex app, it throws up an error saying ‘server not available’.

The content does playback through Plex’s DLNA and the Xbox Media app.

Has anyone else experienced this with bluray rips? Other H264 content, which has been transcoded, will directplay fine without errors. Is there a bitrate limitation for file playback, hence the error? If not I’m stumped. Can provide logs if required.

Please do post server logs!

No, as long as they are in formats supported by the Xbox One I have not seen any issues direct playing bluray rips to my xbox one.

There is no bitrate for the Xbox One profile and I have played direct bluray rips over 20Mbps with no issues.

The typical reason for the server not available error happens when a transcode is requested but fails to start. This information will be inside of your Plex Media Server.log (which would be required to try and diagnose what is actually happening on the server side of things)

Apologises, if anyone else sees this, the aac bitrate needs to be set lower, 384 works fine, not had any issues since
