When I want to share my PLEX server with someone, I need to tell them to sign up at PLEX for an account, or I have to know their email address.
I’ll be perfectly honest with you guys: in this day and age, with stuff like Hangouts, Discord, Twitter and Facebook, I don’t know any of my friends’ email addresses. Email just isn’t how I communicate with people. I use IM and social media.
If I want to invite a friend to my server, I should be able to just send them a link. They can go to that link, they should be able to do the following:
- Gain immediate access to my server.
- Request access to my server, which then notifies me to approve/deny.
If they don’t have a PLEX account, they’ll of course be prompted to sign up first.
The link should be something I can activate or deactivate myself, maybe even have an expiration timer on it.
