I experienced the same issue after someone in my family saw the “upgrade” was available while using Plex from our TV. I thought updating from there caused the issue. Tried some of the other suggestions of running the “deletes” from the Terminal, but that didn’t fix anything. Downgrading to 1.29.0.6244 did the trick for me. Running on iMac19,2 with Mojave 10.14.6.
