I had to downgrade the server (uninstall+ reinstall). I made a backup of the databases but not the whole PMS folder in /android/data (rooky mistake).
I have now restored the server using the databases AND a copy of preferences.xml from a previous backup of the same server version.
I had to refresh all the metadata as expected, but the server not recognising my local assets (mostly posters). I can confirm they’re in my network shares, the server can see the shares and play the media. It does even show the local asset when I view the poster selection in media edit window, but it doesn’t load them.
What I have tried:
- adding new media with a poster.jpg, doesn’t load in the database. Plex just loads from an online source.
- edited a library to remove the local asset checkbox, save, then check the local asset (and even local metadata) checkbox, no difference.
Any ideas?
My previous backup also includes all the other folders and cache? Should I just restore that + the new databases? (I tried that but the server wasn’t showing up in Plex player settings, only a empty row)
