Server Migration with Plex PASS

I am looking to move my server from one system to another (both Linux Fedora). I purchased the lifetime Plex pass. Is this associated with the current server system or will it transfer once the current has been removed and the new has been established?

Plex pass is on the account, not the server

Awesome. that makes things easy. If I just set up a new server and login it. it should come with me right? then I can just format the drive with the old server and thats it?

Depends on what if anything you want to migrate from the old server. Easiest thing is to just point the new server at the media, and let plex rebuild the libraries, but you will loose any custom info, histories etc.

If you want to keep watch history, not have to re-share, ect, then you need to look into moving the server.

If your media will be at the same mount points, you can clone the old server and reload it on the new.

Here is the Backup/Restore (aka clone) process

It is fairly new only a handful of movies. so that is not a big deal. I just installed a separate m2 drive to house the programming with the separate drive for data. I have installed the new server software, but was not sure what I needed to do after to try to preserve settings, but not a big deal if my plex pass will come over signing into my account. I guess I can go ahead and reformat the drive.
