Had a computer crash so replaced the OS hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10 Pro and all my other programs … Got to Plex , installed the latest server on my computer … Launched it , and said it was unclaimed …
So clicked the claim button and got the “ops no soup” error and now it just spins around and around and nothing is ever found …
Uninstalled the server and then went thought the computer and striped out all the “plex media server” items in my computer … Rebooted and reinstalled the server and still same issue …
Same here, except all I did was download Plex and it booted up fine I put my media on it watched and enjoyed for 1 day, then I went back to watch some stuff last night and it gives me the ‘Searching for Server’ message. I have cleaned the program and all related files from my desktop 3 times, so far, and This message is all I get for the time spent.
You have cropped the screen so i cannot tell how your are getting to your server - whether through http://127.0.0.1:32400/web or https://plex.tv/apps/desktop
I can not see any server linked to your account.
Is Plex Media Server.exe showing as a running process in windows task manager ?
Is there a Plex icon in the windows system tray at the bottom (bottom right corner)?
If Plex Media Server.exe is running in task manager - what happens when you put this in a browser on the server computer http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
Could you locate the Logs directory and copy it out and zip the copy and attach the zip
By default it would be here on windows C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs
Do you have a non standard network ? or is it a private network with IP addresses like 192.168.0.xx or 192.168.1.xx
I don’t see a Plex icon in the bottom right corner.
When I went to Users there was no xxx/AppData file.
And the IP is not one of those non-standard “192.168…etc…” types of ip. This is another image that includes the cropped material along with the view of Task Manager.
can you run RegEdit and within the registry locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server and right click on Plex Media Server and click on Export and select Save as Type: Text files (*.txt)and save the export to a text file.
Send me the saved export text file by Private Message
and can you open command line and get me the output from ipconfig /all
and can you go to SettingsInternet Options and select Connections tab and click LAN Settings and see if Proxy Server is ticked - if it is , click Advanced and take a screenshot
Well this is strange … I used Revo Uninstaller to completely remove the server from my computer … The used CCleaner to clean the registry … Rebooted and reinstalled the server part and it had me go through the whole setup all over again … and it worked
but when I closed chrome down and double clicked on the icon in the system tray it was right back to looking for server …
What is also strange is my computer is going a mile a minute working on what I think is updating the libraries …
I always just double click on the icon in the system tray to access the program I don’t do any remote out of my house …
