Server Not Statusing correctly

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2621
Player Version#: 7.31.0.16605 (Android TV Beta)

Funny one last night. The Player was playing content from the server correctly on the NVShield, however looking at the server dashboard it was showing that nothing was playing, and there was no bandwidth being consumed in the network graph.

I picked this up because Tautulli was also not showing anything playing at the time.

Hence the movie was not marked as played when it was finished, and after stopping a following movie half way through the stop place was not remembered.

I managed to fix this by rebooting the server on the QNAP. It now statuses correctly.

Just some feedback

Hi, thanks for opening this thread and sorry to hear you’ve having problems with the app. Could you share app and server logs so we can investigate the issue?
Thanks in advance!

Hey @jesusmc, thanks for the reply.

I’ll attach the logs, but I think too much time has passed since the problem and the error time has gone from the logs.

The status problem happened on the 4/4 between 1930 - 2300.

And the player logs

Sorry about that, but yeah the logs are not covering such date  . If you happen to see the issue again, could you share app logs again as soon as possible? Thanks!

Sorry about that, I should have captured the logs at the time.

To give you some context of how this started and what was happening at the time. We had started a 4K movie, direct play on the NVshield. We stopped (not paused) the playback. Upon resuming I also selected subtitles for non English (forced) from the play screen. Not sure if it was statusing before I did this, but it certainly wasn’t after I did it. There were external WAN clients accessing the server and they were statusing correctly, just not the PMS-NVshield combination on the LAN.

As I said, a reboot of the server fixed it and it has been statusing okay all along. If I get the chance I will recreate the circumstances form before and see if I can make it play up again.

Hey @jesusmc the no server status has happened again.

This time I did mange to capture the logs. The movie was played at 2100 on the 15th of April. There doesn’t seem to be any sign of anything in the logs about the movie being played. Movie was Fantastic Four.

Thanks for those logs. Checking the app ones, it seems that for that specific item, we are not sending timeline events cause the item duration is unknown. I’ve also checked that version of the app running is quite old (7.8.0 vs 7.31.0 which has been released a couple of days ago) so I’d recommend to update to latest version and see if the issue is still present.
Thanks

That’s funny because I have signed up for the Beta program for Android, and I thought it was the latest Beta version.

Looking at the setings screen down the bottom it says it is 7.31.016802. So it would appear to be the latest version.

Hey @jesusmc,

This is now happening on a daily basis and I have seen other reports of this over on the Sub-reddit.

I think it’s a bit of a problem now.

The team has already started investigating it, will update this thread with any new information about it. Thanks!

We are hoping to get it fixed in next version, which should get into beta in the next days.

Thanks @jesusmc
