Server Version#: 1.23.2.4625-a83d2d0f9 Windows 10
Player Version#: Android 8.18.0 on Nvidia Shield device
As of last night I have been unable to play files from my plex server and it seems to be related to the server upgrade yesterday. When I try to play a file the client will spin trying to access the server. While it is “spinning” when I check the server I don’t even see any activity in the desktop to indicate that the server is connected to the client. If I wait long enough it will start playing but then every 10 seconds or so it will “spin” on the client and on the server the desktop activity widget tells me that its buffering the playback. Is there a fix for this?
I’ve enabled debug on the server so if you can tell me which log or logs to provide to debug this I can attach them. Also, should I truncate the logs before starting a playback from the client as the log I see there now contains a lot of data.
More info on this issue. I have tried to playback on an android phone and am seeing the same issue.
Here are the server logs for a an attempt at playing a movie. The approximate start time for the attempt is “Jun 04, 2021 16:26:47” in the logs. The movie didn’t actually start playing right away and just hung with half a screen loaded at first. Then it would play a few frames and hang again.
Great job guys! You’ve made my Friday night. Thanks to @trumpy81 the Ninja for getting the update out and for @ChuckPa for keeping the ball rolling. So far it looks good, well done.
And I’m particularly impressed that @ChuckPa took the initiative.
