Server Version#: Whatever the latest for Windows is (Windows 10 is up to date, Core i7 6850K, 32GB Quad Channel RAM, GTX 1060 6GB)
Player Version#: Whatever the latest is for Windows, lgOS, and NVidia Shield Pro
I have a few thousand movies on my Plex media server, been using it for years. A ‘test’ video I use, mostly for audio, is “Godzilla, King Of The Monsters” in 4K. A movie we’ve already watched. I tried playing it on my gaming computer, which has a Core i9 11900K @5.3GHz, and an RTX 3090ti, over LAN (hardwire), and it was choppy and kept stopping, then say server not strong enough. I got the same error on my LG OLED (wifi), and NVidia Shield Pro (hardwire). All over LAN. I didn’t change anything before this happened, other than typical Plex updates and Windows updates. Afterwards I did update my GPU drivers, as well as hack them to run multiple streams, but that shouldn’t matter over LAN. There should be no encoding or decoding. I tried to watch “Clerks III” last night, which is in 1080p, and it kept pausing as well.
