I have had some problems with my Plex server that has reached the level of “agonizing”, and if anyone can assist me, I would really appreciate it.
My server will randomly decide to hide, and Plex announces that it is unavailable, even to the localhost of the server machine. When I reboot the machine, the server will return and be perfectly useable, but then hours or days later, it will decide it is unavailable again. (I do use the server machine as a desktop, but even if I reboot it, it works, we watch movies or TV on it, and I don’t use the computer otherwise, it will still decide to go unavailable). The problem seemed to get worse when I replaced my N router with a Linksys WRT32X, though I’m not sure why it would, as 127.0.0.1 should work fine even with no router, so that may be irrelevant. Here’s my setup:
The server is using Windows 10 Pro. I sometimes use the Insider Early Release images, but regardless of the version, I’m still having the problem. The machine has an i3-4170 running 3.7GHz, with 16GB of memory.
I have played around with other server types. I have a server pointing to my OneCloud storage, and another pointing to my MyCloud device (I don’t even have anything on that one right now). They all seem to live in harmony when first starting the server.
Any help would be appreciated. I’m sure I left out important information, just let me know.
