Server refuses to transcode Live TV (720p)

I have a dedicated server set up for DVR that I use when I’m out on the road. I have the remote quality limited to 4 Mbps 720p and the remote receiving client also set to 4 Mbps 720p.

If the channel I am watching is 720p from the broadcaster, PMS is trying to stream the full MPEG2 stream through my 8 Mbps upload. Even though I have the remote stream quality set to 4 Mbps 720p and my upload speed entered in the box on the remote access settings.

If I tune to a 1080i channel, the transcoder does what it’s supposed to do and converts it to H.264 4 Mbps 720p.

Hey there,
I have observed the same behavior. If I am playing a 720p direct play stream It’s not possible to change the Bitrate to 720p 2Mbit for example. Plex will always stick to direct play. If I change the resolution to 576p or 480p transcoding is starting just fine and I can change the Bitrate of the stream.
