I moved this to it’s own topic since it is not related to the current Plex Cloud issue.
Check to see if your server has remote access setup properly. Also, the Android and iOS apps have a setting to set your server’s IP address manually. If you don’t have remote access setup, you need to set these. Otherwise, the apps won’t know how to find your server.
Thank you for the fast reply. I purposely have remote access disabled on the dedi, since I am using a custom URL (https://plex.mydomain.com) to access the server. This is because I am accessing it through a CDN to resolve speeds/peering issues with the Dedi and my streaming clients.
Nonetheless, I’ve just tested on my iOS device and without making any changes it seems to be working again. Do you think your fix for Plex Cloud may have had any impact?
When Plex Cloud does go away, will I have similar issues accessing my dedi again?
I am also having issues.
I actually disabled Remote Access since I only want to run Plex locally. However, every time it says direct connection is unavailable although both devices are under same network (192.168.0.1). Plex server is on the device that is on VPN constantly but still the same local network…
Don’t know since we didn’t identify what the cause was. AFAIK, the issue with Plex Cloud was only to Plex Cloud. We did have a slight outage yesterday so that might have been the problem. Hard to say.
