This isn’t a greater-ARMv8 issue. I downloaded and installed on the DS418j sitting next to me which runs without issue.
This is the best I can do at this point. DS418j (ARMv8)

I didn’t know that Synology was supporting Snap packages out of the box! That’s pretty cool! Does it have Debian running on it?
Thanks for trying!
Synology uses their own flavor of LInux.
It is roughly based on Debian… very roughly.
What I showed above is the native package we offer.
Some Synology models are capable of supporting a VM but, due to the limited CPU power, VMs for PMS are strongly discouraged. In most cases, the CPU isn’t strong enough to burn subtitles into videos being transcoded.
Hello again,
I’m sorry, but that is again off topic. We knew already that the native package works on the architecture. That was never the topic of this conversation.
Moreover, it is not my role to be the advocate for the snap container, nor to criticise it. You don’t need to convince me that the “native” package works, I have been using it for years and I know it very well.
The point of this topic is that a package you officially support and advertise is broken in at least one of the four architecture you offer. I found a bug and thought it would be good to share it here so that the snap development team could look into it.
Apologies. I was both tired and grumpy.
Mate, there really is no need to apologise!!
Thanks for your time and help!
