snap is terrible.
You can resolve this for yourself instantly without waiting by using the apt repository or docker image. Both available on ubuntu.
As far as I can see, snap just makes more work for the admin, I would abandon it as @Menel suggested.
Snap is only “terrible” because Plex aren’t keeping it up to date.
If Plex is no longer supported on Snap then Plex should be removed from the store. If it’s is supported then it should be updated.
Either way Plex themselves should make that decision!
Until then my preferred way of installing Plex on Ubuntu is Snap
While it’s in the context of the plex client apps and not server it still worth a read Plexamp AppImage fails to open on Ubuntu 24.04 - #4 by SimonXCIV

They should keep it updated, but they clearly are not.
If having the most recent version of PMS is important to you, you can resolve this yourself as I outlined before.
Install from from SNAP is not and never been fully supported, e.g. hw transcoding does not work with a snap install due to isolation from hardware. It’s a bandaid for out of box convenience for those that cannot add an apt repository or docker.

That’s still not a solution to my problem. The problem is the version that Plex are supplying on Snap is not up to date.
If Plex aren’t supporting this then Plex should confirm and remove it from the snap store. If they are then they should update.
HW transcoding works with no issues for me using the snap version.
Can a member of plex staff (maybe @ChuckPa ) please answer?!
