My server keeps showing that a previously played media file is active and playing - for example, if I end a tv show or movie (even hitting the stop button), my plex server still shows I"m currently watching it, even hours later. Anything that I could be doing wrong?
I don’t think this is a Plex for Kodi problem. I’ve seen the same with regular Plex Media Player.
I had the same issue a few days ago:

Hi,Having the same issue… not really the right sub-forum (I run PMS on a Synology), but the issue sounds similar.
- Episode pops back up, marking the episode (or season) as watched/unwatched or actually letting it play to the end does not seem to help; it defaults back to its 1/3rd playtime.
- I -did- switch clients while watching this episode.
- PMS restart does not seem to help.
Will try to grab logs when I get home

Ah; I think I already found the culprit… I downloaded the logs (yay for remote access!)… the episode still seems to be playing from the RPI3, or something like that. I thought I stopped the episode from playing but perhaps I put it on pause?May 22, 2017 12:07:13.368 [0x7f9c54335700] DEBUG - Play progress on 26255 ‘Git Gone’ - got played 1025178 ms by account 1!

Seems that there was some kind of deadlock happening. When I marked the episode as ‘watched’ on my RPI3 it would pop up again as ‘unwatched’ again a few minutes later, somehow this status change got reversed. I did end up viewing the whole episode on a different client. I ended up restarting my RPI3, mark the episode as ‘watched’, and that solved that.
I have multiple clients on different machines and this has never happened before.

Seeing this exact issue on PMS 1.5.6 and 1.6.1. I can’t roll forward any further due to a bug in PMS. I’ll try to pull logs next time I see it. Happens with remote web clients mostly.
I have the same problem in asustor as6104t if I just exit without click in stop button. plex still using the processor let all slower in the server.
Same problem with Versión 1.13.5.5332, just exit without click in stop button, if play some movies, play 2 movies at same time.
