Server Transcoding Unnecessarily

Player Version#:NVIDIA Shield Pro (But not limited to)

Attempting to find out why videos capable of DirectPlay are being transcoded.
Clients such as AppleTV 4K, NVIDIA Shield Pro and ChromeCast with Google TV are all transcoding 265 to 264 when they are capable of DirectPlay/DirectStream.

Disabled any remote stream bitrate limitation - Still transcodes to 264
The only thing which prevented it from transcoding was to select “Disable video stream transcoding”

Logs attached, but I can’t see any relation…

Can you provide the file’s XML info for one of the problematic files? I’m curious if it has gone through deep analysis yet. The XML will show that.

Ok, it’s had deep analysis performed:

deepAnalysisVersion="6" requiredBandwidths="11392,9723,8760,8760,8760,8760,8760,8760"

Plex calculates bandwidth requirements differently when it hasn’t been done yet which can sometimes cause bandwidth restrictions to kick in (causing transcoding). Probably not the case here though.
