Server Version#: Latest
Player Version#: Latest
Windows 10, Firefox PMP webapp, server and player now current.
I run PMP in a standard Windows account. I am not able to update successfully by responding to the “new version available” prompt at the top of the screen. I am able to update PMP when that update prompt appears. The server update fails with no on-screen error message. The update prompt continues to appear in the web app.
I’ve tried updating the server using the Windows administrator account on the machine with the same results.
I can update by waiting a few days for the update to be posted on the Plex web site for new users, downloading it from there, and installing it manually as a Win administrator without deleting the current installation. (Haven’t tried doing that from the standard login.)
Same thing happens when I see a server update prompt on my Android Plex app. The update fails with no on-screen message.
Another thread from 3 years ago showed a screenshot of an “update failed” window with a vcredist problem. To repeat, I get no error messages in either standard or administrator mode. There is no problem when manually downloading the new version and installing it over (i.e., without first uninstalling) the old version.
I’ll look for logs when I get home. Not sure if logging is enabled by default or not. If not, the logs, if necessary, will have to wait until the next server update comes out.
Thanks for any help.
