Set a cover/poster for a folder that contains other folders

Hello everyone,

I have a folder in my Plex, that contains some sub-folders, each of that sub-folders has some media videos… i’d like to know if it’s possible to set a cover/poster for that parent folders… i mean…

Is there a way to place a cover/poster for… “Bola de Dragon” for example? it’s a folder with some videos inside…

Thanks a lot!

No.

You can make a ‘Fake’ TV Show

A TV Show Library/
.........Fake Show Name/
............Season 01/
..............Fake Show Name - S01E01 - Fake Episode Info.xxx
..............and so on...

When you put that in a TV Show Library:
Fix Match
Search Options
Agent
Personal Media
Select the only item in the list

Plex will now ignore that ‘Fake Show’.
Hand edit and apply info and images as you see fit.

You can’t add images to Folders.
You can ‘invent’ an elaborate ‘work-around’.
Create something wonderful.

I recall:
The Nekked Beverly Hillbillies.

An instant classic…

A TV Show Library/
.....The Nekked Beverly Hillbillies/
........Season 01/
...........The Nekked Beverly Hillbillies - S01E01 - Pilot, Crash This Plane Into That Mountain, Before It's Too Late.xxx
...........The Nekked Beverly Hillbillies - S01E02 - Granny Goes To Town (It's Too Late).xxx
...........The Nekked Beverly Hillbillies - S01E03 - What's That Doing In The Cement Pond - Again.xxx
...........The Nekked Beverly Hillbillies - S01E04 - Bodine, Jethro Bodine - Double Nought Seven.xxx
...........and all the hits....

:joy:

Sorry i’m a noob in Plex and don’t understand… you mean for example:

Dragon Ball/
—/Dragon Ball Z
—/Dragon Ball Z - S01E01 - Name_of_episode.???

What you mean with .xxx extension? Doing that what will i have? can’t understand… I’m so noob :frowning:
Thanks

If all you want is a TV Show - Dragon Ball Z is, in fact, a TV Show.

If you name and structure it properly and put it in a TV Show Library - it’s gonna work:

There’s the show - Here’s the structure:

A Drive:/
........A TV Show Library Folder/ <---"Add Folders" aimed here - nowhere else.
.......... Dragon Ball Z/
..............Season 01/
................Dragon Ball Z - S01E01 - The New Threat.mp4
................Dragon Ball Z - S01E02 - Reunions.mkv
................Dragon Ball Z - S01E03 - Episode Name Optional.mkv
................Dragon Ball Z - S01E04.mp4

“xxx” is used when we don’t know the file extension (MKV/MP4/AVI/etc)

Movies can NOT go in a TV Show Library Type.
TV Shows can NOT go in a Movie Library Type.

Create a TV Show Library Folder off the root of a drive. <—Then Create a TV Show Library.

Add Folders - aim it at the folder you just made for your TV Show Library, if you don’t have one already - and if you do have one and it’s in a Movie Library - START OVER!

Structure and name Dragon Ball Z as I have shown.
Put the entire Dragon Ball Z structure into your TV Show Library.
Scan Library.

Report what happened.

Filebot can make this soooooo much easier:

I know what I’m doing and I can’t work without FileBot.
You can’t either - unless you’re ready to do it right and have plenty of free time on your hands.

Now we call @trumpy81 back - due to me not knowing the first thing about a Synology - and him knowing a lot.

Tested - to make sure:

D:\TV-Trash\
......Dragon Ball Z\
..........Season 01\
.............Dragon Ball Z - S01E01.mp4
.............Dragon Ball Z - S01E02.mp4
.............Dragon Ball Z - S01E03.mp4
