first of all, sorry for my english, i’m french
So, i’m using Plex since a while and i didn’t have this problem before
Yesterday i downloaded a few movies from a website i never used before and with those movies (and those movies only), Plex doesn’t put the right covers and no informations about the movie.
I guess some meta-data are missing but i don’t know how to fix that.
could you please help me?

Are the files mp4 or mkv? if they are mp4 they could have metadata stored inside the files, also make sure to put the year of the movies in the folder/filename.

The problem was that the year wasn’t written 
Hum… i fixed the problem i had with the movies but not with the tv shows.
even if i put the year of the tv shows it doesn’t work. i don’t have covers or any info.

Are these files MKV or MP4?
If they are MP4, its possible they have metadata inside the file

@matt06 Can you tell me which TV Show isnt working and write down how you have the file named? also if its in a folder the name of the folder too.

Another thing:
Plex Media Server > Settings < Agents
Check your show tab and tell me what order you have, is it similar to this?
EDIT: I see the file is the walking dead from the image sorry. Rename the file like above.
Your rename - The.Walking.Dead.S06E01.VOSTFR.WEB-DL.x264-ARK01
New rename - The Walking Dead - S06E01 - First Time Again - WEBDL-1080p.mp4
Also make sure the file is in a folder by its name with a season folder as listed above.
TV Shows > The Walking Dead > Season 01 > The Walking Dead - S06E01 - First Time Again- WEBDL-720p.mp4
If you need a program to help rename your files there is Filebot and Sonarr.

Well, it’s a bit wired because i usually use Filebot to rename my files. Today i did it again on my “the walking dead” file and i also created the folder “season 06” and… it worked!
What i don’t understand is that i have a lot of other tv shows for wich i didn’t create exactly a folder “name of the tv show” > “season” and Plex was fine with that!
what is sur is that from now i will always organise my files like this.

Yeah definitely use Plex’s naming guidelines, it will help out a lot and keep your media nice and organized =)
