Did a quick search and didn't find anything but this has to have been brought up before.
It would be nice to have as a feature on the server side to set maximum quality limitations for individual users or even devices.
(I keep multiple versions of a lot of my files for maximum direct stream compatibility too.)
pretty self explanatory, but here's an example anyway:
My parents have a huge TV and the bandwidth to pull down my full 1080p movies. I'd like to allow that for them.
My brother-in-law, usually streams to his iPad Mini I would like to force 720p even if he has highest resolution set in the app.
Then there's a hand-full of friends I am sharing my media with I'd like to force 480p versions.
Just a thought to keep better tabs on bandwidth.
