Hi Plex Community.
I recently started using Plex while i’m coming from iTunes. I successfully imported my playlists from iTunes and somehwhat successfully imported the track ratings.
One anyoing thing is, that the computed album rating from iTunes get written into the not rated tracks of the album in Plex. That’s bad in my case, because i have sometimes songs in albums with one star and the whole album gets rated with one star in Plex.
My idea now: I already imported 1-5 Star playlists from iTunes into Plex and now i want to set to all the containg tracks the rating. Then i dodge the computed album rating.
My Problem: In the playlist UI is only one option per song (Remove from Playlist). I need the modify button like i get in the normal library to multiselect all tracks and set the rating.
Is there any workarround for this? In iTunes i can just change the view from ‘playlist’ to ‘titels’ and i get all my options. Does this work somehow in Plex?
I just wanted to reply because I’m having this same issue. I transferred my collection meticulously from Google Music and Tidal (using Soundiiz), but ratings have not carried over very well. Luckily I have loads of playlists of Thumbed up /Liked songs (like “Highlights” for each genre, etc.), so I could easily do a mass bulk rating and then I’d be laughing, BUTTTT for some reason Plex doesn’t let us select multiple and add ratings in Playlist view. Infuriating, and I can’t think of any workaround. Please let me know if you do. Thanks!
There is sadly no way in the Plex App as far as i know. I worked arround this fiddeling in the database file from Plex.
Unfortunately i didn’t document my steps…
If you are in some way comforortable with SQL querries you can try in your on.
I vagly remember to generate from each playlist a new playlist (Queue all songs in Plex and save the Queue) so that you know, the newest entry in the table play_queue_items is exactly that playlist. Then i generated tags in the taggings table and from there i wrote the rating into metadata_items.
I really don’t remember why i did all this this way, but it worked for me.
The Database File you want to edit is located at C:\Users[USER]\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases\com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
