I am running Plex Media Server 1.7.1.3856, and was just wanting to see if anyone has been able to set trailers to play specifically one movie. For example, the Mission Impossible IMAX preroll being only on the Mission Impossible movies, and the THX trailers for certain Disney films being assigned only to those films, and using Dolby Atmos and DTS:X trailers on everything else…
The extras are in an external library called “Extras”. The library only has the following files. I really want IMAX_Countdown_MIRN_A_51-thedigitaltheater.mp4 to play before Mission Impossible movies only, but the rest can shuffle.
As it sets sits now, the functionality you want isn’t built into Plex. You get just one pre-roll, and only that one pre-roll. There are numerous request on these forums to build on this feature, but as of yet, none have been implemented.
All I can suggest is to create a Feature Request in that appropriate forum, outlining what you want, and the desired functionality. Keep in mind, there are Feature Requests on that forum that have hundreds of votes and are 3+ years old, that haven’t seen the light of day, so all you can do is wait it out… Your request might make it into the core app sometime before we’re all drawing Social Security…
FWIW I actually like the idea, even though I personally don’t use pre-rolls. The limited functionality of the current feature is the biggest reason I don’t use it .

@bret7600, make sure you search for an existing request first, and if you find one give the first post a “like”, as that’s how to add your support to the request.
