setup mixed music album

Hi
I am trying to setup a music folder with mixed artist disc
discs like Now Music

i have tryed:
on server (seedbox) i have a music folder (right now i am trying in a test folder)

Test folder

/mixed music
/mixed music 1/track 1 track 2 3 4 and so on
/mixed music 2/track 1 and so on

i can not get grafik to the folders
i have tryed inside the folders

mixed music ---------- mixed music-poster.png
mixed music 1 ------- mixed music 1-cover.png
mixed musik 2 ------- mixed music 2-cover.png

Also the track grafik come and go but it find the artist name and song?

can anyone help me here my hair is almost gone

like i sayed no grafik on the tracks but if i press the pencil on the track and just go out again then the grafik is ther
but again if i go out of my test folder and in to the album folder again its gone again

cover art can be only there, if an ‘album’ exists
You don’t have defined an album, yet.

Music / <-- music library points here
   Various Artists / <.. this is the AlbumArtist
      mixalbum 1 / <-- the mixalbum's name
         cover.jpg
         1. trackartist - tracktitle.mp3
         2. trackartist - tracktitle.mp3
         3. trackartist - tracktitle.mp3
      ...
      mixalbum 2 /

      ...

Make sure to have either no embedded metatags at all or have them mimic the structure defined by the folder organisation.

The best way is to set up a Various Artists folder under your main music folder:

Music
— Various Artists
---- Now Music That’s What I Call Music 60
---- Now Music That’s What I Call Music 61

but in the library i only see the folder Various Artists with tracks from daMusic.Chart.Vol.14

if i choose view by folders i see folder Various Artists in that folder i see all my Music.Chart.Vol folders with the traks in them
but here i cant edit the folders only tracks

the daMusic.Chart.Vol.14 is the same as the other daMusic.Chart.Vol folders

the daMusic.Chart.Vol folder names is home made (its private mix tracks)

Have you checked if the tracks appear in other albums, i.e. whether Plex did ‘merge’ some of the albums?

How are the embedded idv3 tags set in these files?

Only one album out of 9 show up in Various Artists do not think the traks is more than ones

I think your naming convention is off. My belief is that Plex is reading the the artist name instead of the song title; the artist should come after the song; if the artist should even be there at all. (someone with more knowledge can answer that.)

But I would try using this naming convention:

01 Panda.mp3
02 Don’t Let Me Down.mp3
03 Geronimo.mp3
04 Work From Home.mp3
and so on

Then take a look at the properties of each song> under details under Contributing artist it should be the actual artist and under Album artist it should be Various Artists. Also make sure the album title is consistent on all the tracks.

You can also update it faster by using Mp3tag http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ to clean up any errors; I use it all the time.

The above is how I have all my Various Artist music set up. I don’t have any issues, even with mixed, homemade mixed, soundtracks, etc.

Try all that and report back; my guess is that the above will fix your issues.

No, this is perfectly fine.

This would make things more complicated in a Various Artists album. Then, your embedded metadata truly have to be immaculate.

Okay gotcha! I was just going by my own setup that seems to work well. Sorry for the misinformation.

ohhh my god
i finish all the tracks albums all then i moved it all in to my musik folder from my test folder and plex renamed it all again

ok so i tryed the program Mp3tag JamesS and THANK YOU awesome you saved the rest of my hair
now it works

What i do now is that i go into every track to name artist, album and so on damm big work
i start by going to folder view and start with one track and put Various Artists, album vol and so on
save it and then go to Various Artists ther i put graf for the album so now i have the album vol under Various Artists with 1 track in it so now back to the vol folder and do this with the rest of the tracks
it works but damm big work
