I am wondering how can I share my library with my family member (he has its own Plex account) but only while he is on my LAN.
My upload is limited, don’t want to let him stream while he is away from my home.
You can’t limit how a friend can access your server. You can turn off remote access, but that would affect everyone, even you.
The best way to solve this issue is to set up a VPN in a way that you would block access to Plex from the outside world, but when you want to access Plex remotly you would connect to the VPN and then gain access to Plex server.
This would let you as the owner administrate who has access to Plex outside on the internet (they need VPN credentials) and Plex is accessible only in your home.
